This one entertains himself... for the most part... given some random toys. Oh the joy he brings and the messes he makes.

i heart make up : new loves

yesterday i made a trip down to sephora and nordstroms. my friend brooke accompanied me, showing me some of her faves, which helped a lot. i am pretty simple, usually wearing neutral eye shadows and nude lipgloss, but i wanted to jazz it up a little bit. so we headed to the MAC counter. apparently blue eyeshadow compliments brown eyes beautifully, so that is what i did. and i love it. i also got blue velvet lashliner, which is still dark like black with a tint of blue and sparkles. :)

1. BUXOM lips - celeste
2. BUXOM lashliner - blue velvet
3. BENEFIT play sticks (foundation/concealer) - paper dolls
4. MAC eyeshadows (left to right) - amber lights (for crease), deep truth (corners), naked lunch (eyelid), mylar (highlighter)

in the garden.

i love our garden. it's so fun to see your plants grow. every day i go out there and water it or just check on how it's doing. the only plant we are being able to use right now is our spinach plants. the peas are getting there and our raspberry and blackberry bushes are looking greener than ever. we will be able to harvest out potato plants later on. so excited! on another excited note, something awesome this way comes! :) stay tuned!

great minds dress alike.

meet danielle.

she's my friend.

she's awesome.

and has perfect style.

i lub her.

over the weekend i saw danielle for a quick second and first thing i asked was about her necklace, then shirt, then pants, and shoes. :) i wish we shared closets. i'm sure it is hilarious to listen to us talk because we bounce from one subject to another and then easily pick back up on the previous topic. it could be confusing for others but for us it works great. we have been friends since junior high and will remain friends for forever. she is an inspiring girl and i'm so happy to know her. :)

danielle: shirt- gap  pants- gap  necklace- anthropologie shoes- darn can't remember

me: shirt- gap  pants- anthropologie  earrings- forever 21 shoes- payless

they call me mellow yellow

ok, they don't call me that. it's just the song i sing in my head when i wear my yellow apron or use my awesome yellow mixing bowls from williams- sonoma. i love the little pop of color it adds in our kitchen so i leave them out on our counter-tops. ;) initially i was just wanting to take photo of my pretty apron i was gifted back in december by my awesome friend danielle ;) but then i thought i would also share our dinner since it was delish!

when i whip out my apron and mixing bowls, you know i mean business. it means brett is going to eat good tonight! i made lasagna. yummmm. of course i had to make it as healthy as possible by using, light ricotta cheese and light mozzarella cheese, and veggie smart pasta sauce. i usually only use whole wheat pasta but somehow i grabbed the normal kind. we are big advocates on organic products and eggs that come from cage free hens that were naturally fed, and same with our cows milk and hamburger meat. pretty much if i can find an organic alternative i'll take it. i through in some spinach, since you can never have enough spinach. and viola! dinner is served.

living room : shelf display

remember when i found these amazing shelves way back when! well i have finally gotten it somewhat put together. i'm still not 100% happy with it but it's a lot better than what it was.

i loved how they decorated the shelves in pottery barn, with the vintage cameras, it was a perfect way to display the two cameras i have bought. i also had these white frames that i wasn't using at the time along with some candles, i though it was a fun way to display them both by framing the candles. i just tried to use what i had around the house for the most part.

it's a tradition to get those old western family photos done at jackson hole, and displaying one of those photos went perfect with the antique cameras. and i loved adding our photobooth pictures as well as a fun tough. i did however go buy that awesome white globe at target for $25.
